Sizing Of Leather Belt
Leather belt’s size is not the same as your pant or waist size. Because the belt goes around you and your pants, your tucked in shirt, and your underwear, your belt size is usually 1 or 2 inches larger than you pant size. For most belts you would want to choose your belt approximately 2″ larger than your pant size. Of course we would suggest that you measure your size, to ensure you order the correct one. There are 2 ways to measure your belt size correctly.
Method 1. Measuring The Belt That you have
The easiest and most accurate way to determine your correct belt size is by measuring an existing belt. Take a belt that you own, one that its you well. Measure the belt as shown in the picture below. Start from where the material folds around the buckle (not including the length of the buckle itself), and measure to the hole you use the most. That is exactly the size you need to order.
Method 2. Measuring yourself.
Another way to determine your belt size, is to measure yourself. Take a flexible tape measure, and wrap it around your waist. There is one rule you need to follow: wrap the tape measure exactly as you would a belt; over your clothes and in exactly the spot your belt loops are. Again, the measurement you come up with is exactly the size you need to order.
